This week I have come up with two songs of Salil Chowdhury punched into one as they are the same song with same tune. The song was first created in bengali in 1969 for singer Manab Mukherjee. ( Later Salil Ch used it in film Anand in 1971. Translated and at places newly written by lyricist Yogesh as he has done for many Salil Chowdhury original bangla lyrics. If you listen the Manab Mukherjee song, you will see how the bgm evolved with time. Later the bangla song was recorded by Salil Ch-s daughter Antara Chowdhury also. I have given the reference below.

Antara Chowhury (daughter of Salil Chowdhury singing)

Anand director Hrishikesh Mukherjee was a next door neighbour of Kishore Kumar and his plan was also to use Kkji voice for Rajesh Khanna in Anand. (By that time Aradhana-1969 already happened). But due to some misunderstanding between Kkji and Hrishikesh Mukh that did not happen. And Muksh ji created history with this song.

Song: Maine tere Liye hi (Sudhu Tomar i Janya- in bangla)
Music: Salil Chowdhury
Lyrics: Salil Chowdhury and Yogesh in hindi
Original: Mukesh ji in hindi, Manab Mukherjee in bangla

Bangla Lyrics:

Sudhu tomaar i jannye, sur taal aar gaan bedhechi
[Only for you, I have created this sur, taal & song]

Er aar kono nei prayojon
[It does not have any other purpose]

Tumi haasbe, bhaalobaasbe,
[you will laugh & love]

Taai, aamaar e bhubane range rase eto aayojon
[That's why, so much arrangement is here in my world with color & 'rasa']

choto kathaa choto choto sukhe dukhe moraa khusi
[With Small words & small small happiness & sorrows, we are happy]

janaa kathaa mukhe bolinaa, taai bhalobaasi
[Well known facts we do not utter, that's why, just love each other]

je jaa mone kare janam janam dhore
[whatever people may think, for life after life]

tomar aamar ei niyojon
[you & myself are appointed (to stay together)]

bhule gechi bhule gechi ki pelaam ki na pelaam
[I have forgotten (I do not care), what I got or not got]

jiban maalaa, haasi kaadan diye gethe gelaam
[Life garland, I have stiched with laugh & crying]

maalaa jhore habe smritir jhuli jabe
[When that garland will dry up & turn into a bag of remembrance,]

tomaar aamaar habe biyojon
[then only your & mine separation will happen]
